On our way to find our relatives
After Elgin Cathedral, we were unsure if we should continue our search for our ancestors or head back to Inverness. We were exactly half way between both, if we continued we would only just make it before the light faded ... but after some thought we decided to give it a go. We made a mad dash to Rathen a small village outside Fraserburgh and as the sun was setting we saw the towns church steeple in the distance.
As sun set we found the old grave yard and right next to the gate Alma and Jacob found the graves of Alexander Urquhart, Jean Dickie & James Urquhart along with some of their children. It was an exciting experience finding the gravestones and reading through the information. We felt truly blessed to be in Scotland and connect with these people.
